Customers’ expectations for fast and reliable TV viewing are constantly evolving. Hyper-connectivity in the digital TV landscape is the way to go, and GMA Network has certainly stepped up to the challenge as the media giant launched GMA Now, a plug-and-play dongle that lets viewers watch TV on-the-go for free and enjoy interactive features.
GMA Now lets Android smartphones receive live digital broadcast of Kapuso channels including GMA, GMA News TV, Heart of Asia, Hallypop, and soon, DepEd TV, as well as other free-to-air channels available in an area. Viewers need to simply download the GMA Now app from the Google Play Store and register for free and attach the dongle on the mobile to start enjoying amazing content.
GMA Network also bundled in exclusive interactive features for viewers to enjoy while connected to the internet. First is the GMA Videos-On-Demand where one can watch exclusive content whenever; the other is the Groupee Chat allowing viewers to chat with family and friends while watching GMA programs. There are also fun quizzes and polls for those who’d like to win instant prizes.
“We are very proud of this opportunity given to us by GMA to evolve the business further and use technology as a way to navigate ever-changing viewing preferences. With GMA Now, viewers can watch their favorite programs, and more importantly, engage more fully with the shows. It is a new experience that we are happy to have helped create,” cites GMA New Media, Inc. President and COO Dennis Augusto L. Caharian.
GMA Now is available in certain areas of Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Pampanga, Cavite, Laguna, Baguio City, Pangasinan, Batangas, Metro Cebu, Metro Davao, and Cagayan de Oro. For now, it works with Android mobiles that run on Android OS and USB OTG but will soon become available for iPhone users, too. GMA Now retails for P649 with no monthly fees and is available via the GMA Store or partner e-commerce stores Lazada and Shoppee. For more information, visit gmanetwork.com.
