Electronics Arts (EA) teamed up with Respawn for the realease of the Apex Legends, a free-to-play battle royale shooter spin-off of Titanfall. The Apex Legends is now available for download and to play on Origin on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
Set in the Titanfall universe, the game offers a cast of eight Legend characters. You can choose from Bangalore, Bloodhound, Caustic, Gibraltar, Lifeline, Mirage, Pathfinder, and Wraith. Each Legend has his or her own unique abilities and play styles. Like most battle royal games, the Apex Legends comes with a squad-based game play, letting you team up with two other players and compete against other groups. The last team standing wins the game.
Among the features to watch for from the new game are: the Jumpstart system, where players can choose where to land before the match even begins; the Respawn Beacon, a one-time use location where defeated teammates can e revived; and the Ping communication system, which allows players to call out their opponents, weapons, locations, and more.
