Last night, HTC launched three of their latest phones and one of them is the HTC Rhyme which is being marketed to appeal to the ladies out there. We had a brief hands-on of this phone earlier and indeed, from the looks of it, women would find it really desirable.
When I look at the HTC Rhyme, it reminds me of a feminine version of the HTC Desire S. It has almost the same specs as the HTC Desire S with its 3.7-inch Super LCD screen, 1GHz processor, 5 megapixel camera, and Android Gingerbread (2.3.4) OS. However, the Rhyme has a generous 4GB internal storage, a higher battery rating and HTC Sense 3.5 UI to boot. The HTC Sense 3.5 doesn’t deviate much from the Sense 3.0. HTC just made it easier for first-time users to know where’s what.
The outward appearance of the Rhyme resembles a bigger version of the HTC Wildfire S and comes in colors that would match a lady’s style. What we tried on has hues of subdued pastel green.
The HTC Rhyme package comes with a lot of accessories.
There’s the in-ear headphones with flat, tangle-free cable and inline controls with built-in mic.
There’s also the light-up Charm Indicator which is a cube charm that has a cable you attach to your phone’s audio jack. While your phone is tucked safely inside your bag, the charm is partially visible outside your bag and will light up if there are phone notifications for you. You will also get the matching leather pouch for your Rhyme.
Then finally you will also have the dock. Docking it will invoke the Dock Mode app and the interface will transform into landscape mode. The dock has a microUSB port to connect your charger to a power source so it will automatically charge your phone when docked. It’s a nice way to store your phone while at your desk or when you want to watch a video from it.
We’ll be getting a review unit of the HTC Rhyme soon and we’ll let you know more how it performs. For now, it’s a fresh-looking phone bundled with neat accessories that the ladies would definitely like.
The HTC Rhyme is already available in stores with an SRP of Php25,000.

Looks like a female phone. You probably won’t see men use the charm if they bought this phone. Hehehe.
good day sir! can u give your thoughts on which has better value, the Rhyme, or the samsung galaxy W (i8150)? thank you and more power!
not sure about the SRP of the Galaxy W but i think it’s cheaper by a few thousand pesos than the Rhyme and it’s more powerful with its 1.4GHz processor. however, it looks plain compared to the Rhyme which also has some really nifty accessories to go with it. if you’re looking for a plain phone, go with the Samsung Galaxy W. If you want to stand out, the Rhyme would help you do that.
The Galaxy W is retailing for a little less than 16k. It only has half the ROM at 2gb and 512mb RAM but has the faster processor like Sir Calvin said. Same screen size too. It’s really plain looking though..
BTW, this is the price with an online seller, not the SRP you’ll find in malls.
yeah… and yung rhyme nasa 20.5k sa grey market.
Hah! The sensation xe dropped to Php24.7K! Better deal than this one i’d say.
SRP bro… it will be cheaper sa store where you saw the 24.7k sensation xe.
This is cool, but needs to modify its shape perhaps?
Too bad HTC rhyme won’t get an ICS update.
25k php?
ano ako bale?
swerte naman htc.
