Power Mac Center has celebrated its 29th anniversary by staging live audio-digital crossover experiences that featured OPM icons and artists.
In the era of streaming, where music from all over the world is easily accessible, PMC seeks to highlight Filipino music and provide local musicians with a distinctive platform to present it.
An initiative called Sync Sessions prioritizes skills above technology development. Beyond the stage, it intends to enable Filipinos to fully utilize Apple technology by learning new, original ways to create music.
In order to expand the audience for the audio-digital experience, Sync Sessions was staged five Saturdays in a row, from August 26 to September 23, in various places throughout Metro Manila.
It started at Eastwood which featured Bullet Dumas, Ang Bandang Shirley, Sandwich, and Jess Connelly. It was also followed by Young Cocoa and Munimuni on September 2 at SM Makati.
Last September 9, Jason Dhakal and Autotelic performed at the UP Town Center, while Zild played with SOS and YouTuber Lesha at Robinsons Magnolia where they claimed to have previously learned how to produce music on an iPad mini and a MacBook
The series’ powerful lineup, which includes Ace Banzuelo, This Band, Ebe Dancel, and Leanne & Naara, also performed before the packed crowd at Festival Mall in Alabang.
Joey Alvarez, PMC Director for Marketing and Product Management said, “Sync Sessions is an original concept from way back that allows artists and fans to experience music in unique and innovative ways, as our featured bands and solo artists use Apple devices as instruments. As we consume more and more digital content, we also want to showcase the beauty of the live human experience of coming together to enjoy music.”
Alvarez added, “Many of the artists we invited have long been using Apple devices for their music. PMC hopes to inspire a new generation of musicians and content creators alike to keep discovering their voice and express it through their chosen medium or channel—be it music, film, or even vlog. We hope to provide the tools that make individuals stand out and reach their dreams.”
The 30th anniversary year-long celebration of Power Mac Center is currently underway with the slogan “30 Years of Transforming Experiences Through Lifestyle Innovations.”
