Following the launch of the Alcatel 1X, the world’s pioneer Android Go phone, Alcatel has released a lower-tier Alcatel 1 with the same android operating system.
Among its key specs include a 5-inch display, MediaTek MT6739 quad-core processor clocked at 1.28GHz, 1GB RAM, 8GB onboard storage which can be amplified to up to 32GB, and a 2,000mAh stamina.
In terms of its cameras, the Alcatel 1 has a 5-megapixel main shooter and a 2-megapixel snapper on paper, but reports claim that its camera can perform just like an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front sensor.
Since the device comes with an Android Go OS, it is expected to come with pre-installed Google Go, Files Go, Google Maps Go, YoutubeGo, Gmail Go, Chrome, Google Play, and Gboard, which are all tailored to run smoothly even on lower-end devices.
No official announcement about its pricing yet, but the Alcatel 1X which has higher specs than the Alcatel 1 is currently priced at USD 100 (around PhP 5,000) so it’s safe to assume that the Alcatel 1 will have a sub-PhP 5K price.
