There are lots of portable speakers around sporting the egg shape design and this EGG Speakers from Mobile Wonders is no different. In fact, this one’s not a new product at all (the color blue is though) but if you’re still in the market for a portable speaker, you might want to check this review out.
The EGG Speakers is actually two speakers joined together by a magnetic points on its base so you can position it far apart from each other for a wider coverage. The package comes with a 3.5mm audio cable, a USB cable which you use to connect the two speakers and to charge it via USB, and also a carrying pouch for quick storage.
Twist each half to reveal the ports and knobs that makes these speakers work. The power switch and the audio port are on a separate half so you can’t use only one half of the speaker. You connect the two via its miniUSB ports, connect the audio cable to your MP3 player or laptop or whatever and switch on the speakers.
Sound quality on this speakers is surprisingly good and loud. Loud like you’re hearing it from a television set at high volume. It’s a really good pair of speakers for watching videos on your laptop, you can really distinguish speech from background music.
The only problem I encountered was due to its light weight, bass on high volume gets distorted because the speakers would vibrate against the surface it’s placed on. It will vibrate too much that it will travel all over your table if left unchecked. I would suggest not using it on max volume or placing it on a soft surface.
Battery life would last me almost a whole day and charging it would take about 2 to 3 hours.
This EGG speakers from Mobile Wonders would make a great pair of portable speakers if you can handle its hefty price. It’s loud and clear despite it’s small size. Lightweight and easy to carry as well. I wish that cable management would be more elegant though and that it will be a bit more sturdy at high volume.
The EGG dual capsule speakers has a price of Php1,800 and aside from blue, it also comes in red (new), orange, purple, silver and black colors. You can view the list of stores where you can get these from Mobile Wonders website.

Portable speakers have always been unimpressive. The X-minis that were touted as being loud and boomy for their size still left me wanting for more bass. This only strikes me as being marginally better.
try the nano beat…you’ll be surprise with loudness and bass…
try the bounce speaker, definitely better than the x minis
looks nice although i’m not fond of those messy cables but i guess the only way you can fix those if by going wireless via BT.
