Digital Filipino’s Janette Toral is running a contest which seeks to identify the new and promising blogs for 2007. Aside from promoting new blogs, another benefit to the participants according to Janette is to boost link love. Beginning May 19, Janette will list the blogs that were chosen for the top ten as well as the bloggers who joined the contest.
In order to qualify you have to do the following:
- Write a blog post in your blog, listing your choice of 10 (or less) emerging influential blogs. Any blog in the internet can be nominated as long as it was created on or after August 1, 2006.
- Include a link to Janette’s post in your blog post.
- Then post a comment on her post to inform her of your entry.
In the contest guidelines, only 1 list is allowed per blogger. On August 1, 2007 the contest winners will be announced and ten selected winners will go home with $100 dollars.
Those who want to help sponser this event can contact Janette at digitalfilipino_at_gmail_dot_com

Hi Dexter, please check back regularly at the digitalfilipino blog to the see the entries… starting May 19 Janette will post submitted lists
how about my blog? 🙂
This is a good initiative. But what will be the criteria for choosing the winner?
Hi Marc. Thank you very much for this write-up. It is very much appreciated.
@Dexter & myRobert – this is a writing project where bloggers can write about new blogs that they believe is gaining influence this year. We publish a weekly list featuring the blog entries submitted and compilation of all the blog sites mentioned, ranking them according to how often they were cited. The ten selected winners are picked by random. (like a raffle)
@jan2x – if your blog was created anytime from August 2006 to the present, it can be cited by anyone who would like to join the writing project. (including you)
good to see that many blogs now are useful and do have a sense. 🙂
