Dell today announced its latest addition to the Precision line, the Dell Precision M3800 Workstation. Measuring just 18mm (approx. 0.70 in) at its thinnest point and weighing merely 4.5 pounds (1.88 kg), the Dell Precision M3800 Workstation is a perfect workhorse laptop for mobile professionals.
The Dell Precision M3800 has gorgeous design highlighted by its machined aluminum frame and strong carbon fiber base supplemented by its 15.6 “œ Corning Gorilla NBT Glass display. Powered by an Intel Core i7-4702HQ quad-core processor with up to 3.2 GHz max turbo frequency, the Dell Precision M3800 can be configured with up to 16GB memory and a QHD+ (3200×1800) or FHD (1920×1080) display. The Dell Precision M3800 can be installed with either 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro or 64-bit Windows 7 Professional right out of the box.
The Dell Precision M3800 is equipped with an NVIDIA Quadro K1100M with 2GB GDDR5 dedicated memory GPU enough to handle graphic-heavy applications. Moreover, it uses NVIDIA Optimus technology to boost system performance and optimize its battery life. The Dell Precision M3800 offers multiple storage configurations including up to two storage devices with a maximum of 1.5TB of storage (HDD, SSHD or SSD). It has 3 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 ports, HDMI, mini DisplayPort (mDP) and 3-in media card reader giving you more options to connect your other devices.
The Dell Precision M3800 offers multiple external monitor support via the optional Dell D3000 USB 3.0 Docking Station.
Dell has announced that it will be releasing a 31.5″ UltraSharp 32 monitor with Ultra HD 3840×2160 resolution which can be paired with the Dell Precision for a powerful dual-monitor workstation combination.
The Dell Precision M3800 is certified by ISVs including Autodesk, Avid, Sony and Adobe making it a perfect companion for video editors, photographers, 3D animators or CAD designers.
