As of today, the Cosmo Communicator has already surpassed its crowdfunding pledge by 359%. It’s truly a remarkable feat considering that the project was only started less than two weeks ago in Indiegogo. In just a matter of four hours, Cosmo has already achieved its $200,000 fixed goal.
The Cosmo Communicator is a clamshell device, designed to be the go-to smartphone for users who want the convenience of having a smartphone, laptop, and a high-resolution camera all in one. The device’s external color touchscreen can be used for easy phone call and notification navigation. The Cosmo also houses a 24-megapixel camera, which is operable even with the clamshell closed. The second screen can be found upon opening the device, partnered with an integrated fully functioning keyboard. The keyboard even has a backlight feature, making typing comfortable at night.
The Cosmo has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of Flash memory along with expandable microSD memory. It also has a 4,220 mAh battery that can last up to two days of usual activity. The Cosmo Communicator is also capable of running the latest Android 9.0 Pie, as well as Sailfish OS and Debian Linux. It also featured the developers’ exclusive PDA Software suite consisting of the Agenda calendaring app, Notes app, database app, and Airmail.
The device also supports dual 4G LTE Sim connections, Bluetooth, NFC, and WiFi communications. There is also an embedded fingerprint sensor for security and to prevent accidental touch inputs whenever the Cosmo Communicator is inside the pocket or bag.
