Local telco giant PLDT looks to expand its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) facilities by deploying high-speed broadband services to the Cavite province, making it the country’s first Fibr-powered Smart Province.
PLDT’s FTTH rollout covers Cavite’s residential areas, which include Bacoor and General Trias. Specifically, this move will hit Citihomes, Sea Breeze Subdivisions, Legian Subdivision, and Avida Residences. Additional areas also include Boston Heights, Poblacion, Ponderosa, Alta Monte Subdivision, and Lancaster Estate.
With PLDT Fibr, subscribers will enjoy up to 1 Gbps internet speed on a regular basis. But that’s not all–PLDT will also offer world-class entertainment options for PLDT Home. This includes Roku, Netflix, iflix, and Youtube. Lastly, PLDT Home Fibr allows for seameless and stable video streaming, without any pixelation. Also, a Fibr-powered connection ensures that Filipino families may use services like PLDT Smart Home, or the Fam Cam monitoring system, and the Fam Zone cyber security setup.
This past year, PLDT’s fiber facilities increased to over 3.3 million homes, with plans to expand to key communities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Not only that, but they also look to develop and deploy hybrid fiber technologies, like Huawei’s G. The ultimate goal for the end of 2017, all things considered, involves introducing fiber technology to over 4 million homes.
