Almost a month back we had Scott Mcnealy of Sun Microsystems moving out of the CEO position at Sun. Hohumm, for those who aren’t into java and sun equipment.
Now we have an even bigger news of Bill Gates stepping down as Chief Architect (to be replaced by Ray Ozzie) of Microsoft in two years time. This is so that he can concentrate more on his philanthropic activities at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
I guess we have to realize that even the world’s richest man has to retire in some time. But hey, he still is chairman. So do I dub 2006 as the year of transition?, too soon I guess. But if Larry Ellison of Oracle decides to call it quits, then I’m breaking a bottle of champagne over my PC *snicker*.
