Multi-million dollar software firm Atlassian has expanded operations in the Philippines by opening a new site located at the financial district of Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, Metro Manila.
The Philippine office is now the sixth site for the Aussie tech company which has offices in San Francisco (California), Austin (Texas), Amsterdam (Netherlands), Yokohama (Japan), and its headquarters in Sydney Australia.
Atlassian provides tracking, collaboration, communication, service management and development products to more than 40,000 organizations including Citigroup, eBay, Coca-Cola, Netflix and NASA.
Bennieson Co, head of Atlassian’s shared services division in the Philippines, said the new office in Manila is part of its global expansion strategy and will focus on expanding the company’s human resources, finance, systems support and customer service divisions.
“The Philippines’ bustling economy, proximity to mainland Asia and highly talented knowledge base make it a great place for software companies to grow their global business,” Co said. “Opening our first office in the country is just one of many milestones we are eyeing here this year.”
Now on its 13th year, Atlassian has 1000 employees globally. Its local office in Manila has 40 employees and is expected to double by July.
Atlassian recorded a total of $215 million revenue for its fiscal year ending June 30, 2014, a 44 percent increase over the previous year of $149 million.
