We just got a word from an ASUS Philippines representative that indeed only the ASUS ZenFone 2 ZE500CL and ZE551ML will be released next month.
There are three variants of the Zenfone 2 – the ZE500CL, ZE550ML and the ZE551ML and ASUS Philippines will be skipping the release of the ZE550ML in the country.
The Zenfone 2 ZE500CL has a 5-inch HD display, 1.6 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM while the ZenFone 2 ZE551ML has a 5.5-inch Full HD display and multiple configurations of 1.8GHz/2.3GHz processor, 2GB/4GB RAM and 16/32/64GB storage. ASUS Philippines has not yet disclosed whether they’re releasing all 16, 32 and 64GB models though. The ZE500CL is also Single-SIM while the ZE551ML has Dual-SIM capability.
The ZE550ML comes with a 5.5-inch HD display, 1.8GHz processor and 2GB RAM, almost equal to the lowest ZE551ML configuration except for the lower (HD) resolution and absence of NFC. Makes sense why ASUS Philippines has decided to sideline this model IMO.
No words on the exact release date and pricing yet. Yugatech has published their estimated SRP, putting the ZenFone 2 ZE551M Dual SIM at around Php 10K and the ZE500CL Single SIM at around Php 8K but we’re guessing it will be higher than that. We’ll keep you posted once we get additional details on the ZenFone 2. Meanwhile, here are the specs of the ASUS ZE500CL and ZE551ML variants.
