If you still don’t know, the new iPods that were introduced early this month are already available here in the Philippines from dealers or through the Apple Store. When they were announced, our local Apple Store reflected availability in 4 to 5 weeks but we were told earlier that they have been made available since last week.
We were able to briefly play with the new iPod Shuffle, nano and Touch earlier today.
iPod Shuffle
The least interesting among the three are the new iPod Shuffles. There’s just not much innovation on this model. They just made the old design smaller and integrated some of the features from the previous model such as the voice playback.
The iPod Shuffle only comes in 2GB for Php2,490. Colors available are gray, blue, green, orange and pink with only the gray having the black clickwheel.
iPod nano
The iPod nano’s design went into an overhaul. It is now square, slightly bigger than the new Shuffle, and has a multi-touch display instead of physical buttons. There’s also a clip at the back so you won’t require an armband unlike the previous models. However, gone are the speakers and video recording from the old model.
The iPod nano comes in 8GB for Php7,990 and 16GB for Php9,790. Colors available are silver, dark gray, blue, green, orange, pink and the red one which is only available via the Apple Store.
iPod Touch
Perhaps the one having the biggest improvement among the new iPods is the iPod Touch. The new Touch features retina display that delivers crisp and sharp display. It also has a speedier 1GHz A4 processor, 0.7 megapixel rear camera capable of HD video recording, front cam for Facetime (which is going to be great in the future in my opinion) and it’s much thinner and lighter than the previous model.
The iPod Touch comes in 8GB for Php12,490, 32GB for Php15,990 and 64GB for Php21,990.
