Along with its new iPad Air and 8th-gen iPad, Apple also announced the Watch Series 6, which features a Blood Oxygen sensor and app. It also boasts new hardware improvements such as a faster S6 System in Package (SiP) and next-gen always-on altimeter.

Powering this werable is an A13 Bionic, and upgraded S6 SiP, and an all-day battery with an 18-hour  life and 1.5-hour charging time. The Apple Watch Series 6 also features the U1 chip and Ultra Wideband antennas. The Always-On Retina display is bright. Plus, the Apple Watch allows users to access Notification Center and Control Center without waking their screen. They can also tap on complications and swipe to change faces.

The Apple Watch Series 6 expands its health capabilities to include measurement of oxygen saturation of the user’s blood. To do that, the Blood Oxygen sensor uses four clusters of green, red, and infrared LEDs. It also has four photodiodes on the back crystal of the Apple Watch to measure the light reflected back from the blood. These data are then forwarded to the Blood Oxygen app in the watch. The app uses an advanced custom algorithm to measure blood oxygen between 70 to 100 percent.

Running watchOS 7, the Apple Watch Series 6 brings various functions. It includes Family Setup, sleep tracking, automatic handwashing detection, new workout types, and the ability to curate and share watch faces.

Style your Apple Watch Series 6

Apple provides a wide range of cases and bands for the Watch Series 6. The aluminum cases are available in Blue, Silver, Space Gray, Gold, and (PRODUCT)RED–the last one comes with matching bright red bands. Meanwhile, the stainless steel cases can be had in Graphite and the updated classic Yellow Gold color. The Apple Watch Edition is available in Natural and Space Black Titanium.

The company also offers three new band styles: the ultralight Solo Loop; the distinct-looking Braided Solo Loop; and the first-of-its-kind Leather Link. Meanwhile. the Apple Watch Nike now comes with new colors for the Nike Sport Band and Nike Sport Loop. Apple Watch Hermès offers stainless steel cases in silver or space black paired with Single or Double Tour styles in an assortment of vibrant new colors.

The Apple Watch Series 6 retails at a starting price of P22,990. To know more about the new Apple Watch and stay updated on its availability, visit Apple Philippines’ website.
