Insiders from Apple pointed out that the company might be gearing up to announce a new iPhone on March 15, along with the revamped version of the iPad Air.
According to reports, Apple will unveil a new 4-inch smartphone called the iPhone 5se which is primarily aimed at existing users who are content with the size of their current 4-inch iPhone (iPhone 5S and older), but wants to take advantage of newer technologies and faster device.
Traditionally, the tech giant reveals its new smartphone on September which is followed by a pre-order period which spans for two weeks or more, and the official market release after that.
If the rumors turn out to be true, this will be the first time that Apple unveils a handset on March. Not only that, sources said that the company will not accept pre-order for the iPhone 5se, but will instead make the new handset available as early as March 18.
Details about the iPhone 5se remain scarce as we speak, though it’s been said that it will inherit the design of the iPhone 5 and will come in the same color scheme of existing iPhone roster (Gold, Rose Gold, Silver, and Space Gray).
To put it at par with the iPhone lineup, the iPhone 5se is said to feature the new Apple A9 processor with the M9 co-processor, NFC chip with support for Apple Pay, and some of the niceties that bigger iPhones have like revamped camera system, support for Live Photos and always-on Siri.
