Apple’s current social platform for artists called the Apple Music Connect is now in the process of shutting down, much like how Ping did back in 2012. Though previously uploaded content in Connect will still remain searchable in Apple Music until May 24, 2019, artists will no longer be able to post in the platform.
There’s still a silver lining to this sad news, as the latest version of Apple Music is working on a beta version which will cater better to artists and give them access to audience insights and other features. With the new Apple Music, artists can even upload their own photos and create their own playlists.
