The Apple iPad which was made available to nine new countries just last week might come late to the rest of the world due to lack of LCD display production.
LG Display announced that they cannot keep up with Apple’s growing demand for LCD panels for the iPad.
“Apple is ordering more and more displays but it isn’t something we can be able to respond quickly,” Chief Executive Kwon Young-soo told a group of reporters late Thursday. “I am not sure whether we can be able to meet orders from other companies for similar products, but we will be able to supply the displays without fail for Apple by the second quarter of next year.”
Maybe Samsung can pick up the pace? Samsung Electronics is the major supplier of flat screens for Apple’s iPad and iPhones.
It’s selling really well in Singapore and Hong Kong that buying now requires a reservation that would take 5-7 days. Similar case in big cities in the US like New York. The iPad is just a hot commodity these days when we thought that it won’t be that “œbig” when the idea first came out.
Are you getting an iPad any time soon?
