The assortment of angry birds continues its quest to rid off the cuddly but devious pigs into the PC. This immensely popular game from Rovio that iOS and Android users get to enjoy can now be played by Windows XP and 7 users, at a steeper price though.
Rovio offers Angry Birds via the Intel AppUp Center for $9.99. A huge bump in price considering it’s only $0.99 for the iPhone and iPod Touch, $4.99 for the iPad and FREE for Android phones. But you’ll probably get it anyway right? Whatever to keep the little ones preoccupied while freeing your iPhone.
“œWe’re excited to offer Angry Birds through the Intel AppUp center,” says Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. “œNetbooks and consumer laptops are an untapped market for Angry Birds and a huge platform for casual gamers. Rovio looks forward to taking advantage of the innovative consolidated marketplace for PC apps Intel has provided.”
The Intel AppUp Center is like what the App Store is but for Atom-based devices specifically netbooks. The apps and games are created with the netbooks’ screen resolution and processing speed taken into consideration. However, you can still run these apps on a full-blown desktop PC or a regular notebook.
