The rollout for Android 8.0 Oreo recently started for Sony smartphones, with the Xperia XZ Premium being one of the first to receive the new OS.
New features for the device via Oreo include 3D Creator, which allows the scanning of any object, and rendering it in 3D as an avatar or free-form image. Even better, it will perform this task in less than 60 seconds. Second, it will get Predictive Capture, which will start buffering images on the camera when it detects a smile. In turn, this allows users to choose their best photo from a selection of four shots.

Another feature lies in a new Autofocus Burst feature. This particular setup recognizes and captures sequences of moving objects in sharp action. In practice, this results in blur-free shots, even if the subject moves. Other minor improvements include improved sound quality for the front-facing speakers, and new app shortcuts, activated by long-pressing the app icon.
The Oreo rollout will spread in phases, so make sure to check with your local Sony provider to know when it will hit your phone. Users may also follow the @SonyMobileNews Twitter for up-to-date news.
