Along with the Idol 4S, Alcatel also unveiled a smaller yet equally respectable smartphone in the form of the new Alcatel Idol 4.
To put it simply, the Idol 4 is a toned down version of the company’s flagship handset, and is more likely to be geared towards consumers with a tighter budget.
Instead of a big and high-resolution display, the Idol 4 makes do with a 5.2-inch IPS display with 1080p resolution which is still pretty decent to say the least. It’s also equipped with a more modest engine setup comprising of a Snapdragon 617 chip 2GB of RAM (optional 3GB RAM on some models) and 16GB of internal storage.
The Idol 4 gets a lower resolution rear camera rated at 13-megapixel, but does get a dual-tone LED flash in exchange. The resolution of the front shooter on the Idol 4 is at par with that of the Idol 4S, and it also inherits the front-mounted flash unit.
