With the Windows 8 launch just around the corner, we’ll start seeing more and more touch-enabled devices including notebooks. The just-launched Acer Aspire S7 is one of the touchscreen Ultrabooks that will be available early next month.
This thin and gorgeous laptop has a full HD IPS display (even the 11.6-inch) that supports 10-finger multitouch to give you the full Windows 8 experience. The 0.55mm-thin display is covered by Gorilla Glass 2 which combines white glass, glowing light and anodized aluminum for a sophisticated look.
The lid on this laptop is a bit stiff to tilt made by a dual-torque hinge frame design which is perfect for a touchscreen display. You would want a firm monitor whenever you do your touch and swiping on it. This also reduces wobbly lids compared to your typical notebooks.
Keyboard is backlit with automatic sensor to adjust brightness accordingly depending on ambient light conditions. While the Acer Zoom Perfect touchpad supports single or five-finger scroll, pinch, rotate and flip.
The Acer Aspire S7 comes in either 13.3-inch and 11.6-inch variant with both powered by a Core i5-3317U processor, 4GB RAM, and integrated Intel graphics. Storage is fueled by SSD for fast performance but you’ll also have access to Acer’s cloud storage network AcerCloud which allows you to connect devices and share multimedia content seamlessly.
Availability of Acer Aspire S7 will be early November with the 13.3-inch going for around Php75,000 while the 11.6-inch at around Php59,000.
