Face ID and Premium Security
Apple implemented the Face ID-enabled, TrueDepth front-facing camera in this year’s iPhone X. Some, however, speculate this feature arriving in next year’s iPad Pro, as well. In fact, KGI Securities’ Ming-Chi Kuo notes how the iPad Pro would likely be getting the security feature next year.
So far, it remains unlikely for non-Pro iPads to come with Face ID any time soon to give its premium tablet variants more edge. All 2018 iPhone models, multiple sources claim, should be getting Face ID, however.
iPad Pro Rumored Availability
Since the iPad Pro received an upgrade June this year, the next model could arrive as early as the first half of 2018.
Kuo believes technology similar to Face ID would make its way onto Android devices, rendering under-screen fingerprint recognition outdated. Nonetheless, Kuo still claims that Samsung’s Galaxy Note9 will feature the aforementioned fingerprint sensor.
